Homepathy is quite a subtle type of natural treatment. If I had not seen this actually work myself, even after reading hoards of information, I may not have believed that it can be effective. HEART

The ECG may provide crucially important information about whether a heart attack has occurred. It can often distinguish between a heart attack that occurred in the past and one that is in progress at the time the ECG is taken. The patterns on the ECG can indicate which part of the heart (front, back, lower, or sides) has been damaged, roughly estimate the extent of the damage, and suggest whether the heart wall was damaged throughout the full thickness.
The ECG is able to do this because injured heart muscle and scar tissue in the heart do not conduct electrical impulses normally. Consequently, the shapes of the QRS complexes and the T waves are altered in characteristic ways that lead to the diagnosis. The simplest piece of information the ECG can provide is the rate of your heartbeat at the time the ECG was obtained. If 10 QRS complexes are recorded on the ECG paper or ECG monitor in 10 seconds, then your heart rate is 60 beats per minute. The ECG is seldom needed just for information about your heart rate. A check of your pulse will suffice. An ECG may be helpful, though, when the pulse is difficult to feel or is too fast or too irregular to count accurately.
Heart Rate and Rhythm
Doctors can quickly assess the heart rate and rhythm by feeling (palpating) the pulse at the wrist, the carotid arteries in the neck, or the femoral arteries in the groin. Doctors can also tell whether the pulse is regular, has skipped or extra beats, or is irregular, as in atrial fibrillation.
Health professionals usually count the pulse for 15 seconds and multiply that number by 4 (4 x 15 seconds = 1 minute) to calculate the heart rate in beats per minute. A thorough examination includes palpation of the pulses at both wrists, the pulses at the inner part of both elbows (brachial pulse), the carotid pulses in the neck, the aortic pulse in the abdomen, the femoral pulses in the groin, the popliteal pulse behind each knee, the dorsalis pedis pulse on the top of each foot, and the posterior tibialis pulse (on the inside of each leg, next to the ankle). An absent or reduced pulse at any of
these sites may indicate a blockage upstream from that site.
WHAT IS BLOOD PRESSURE?
The pumping action of the heart pushes blood into the arteries with enough pressure to keep it flowing forward. The amount of blood pumped out of the heart (cardiac output) and the tone of the arteries (peripheral resistance) determine the amount of tension pushing against the walls of the arteries.
The standard way to measure blood pressure is in millimeters of mercury (mm Hg). This unit of measurement refers to how high the pressure inside your arteries is able to raise a column of mercury. Each blood pressure measurement has two numbers. The top number is your systolic blood pressure, or the highest pressure within your arteries that occurs during systole, when your heart is contracting. The bottom number is your diastolic blood pressure, or the lowest pressure within your arteries that occurs during diastole, when your heart is relaxing and filling with blood.
Although a typical blood pressure is considered to be 120/70 mm Hg, your blood pressure is not constant. Normal blood pressure refers to your blood pressure when you are resting comfortably. But your blood pressure varies with exercise, strong emotion, or stress. Even a change in position from lying down to sitting to standing can change your blood pressure. Therefore, it is necessary to take more than one reading to determine whether you have high blood pressure. About 35 percent of people who have high blood pressure on a single reading will not have an elevated value when the blood pressure is measured again. If your blood pressure is elevated during three separate measurements, it requires medical evaluation and treatment.
WHAT CAUSES HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE?
Although increased output from the heart, such as occurs normally with exercise, may elevate blood pressure, the usual cause of abnormally high blood pressure is a persistent increase in resistance to blood flow through the small arterioles (the smaller branches of the arteries). The arterioles can be compared to a hose. It takes less pressure to push water through a hose with a large diameter than through a narrower hose.
The cause of the abnormal increase in resistance in the arterioles remains unknown in 95 percent of people, and they are said to have primary, or essential, hypertension. Hypertension runs in some families, although the problem may never develop in many relatives. Men and women are equally affected. For women who take birth control pills and smoke cigarettes, the risk of developing high blood pressure increases. High blood pressure is more common in blacks than in whites. Everyone's risk increases with age. Additional factors that promote the development of high blood pressure include lack of exercise, excess weight, and alcohol use. A high intake of sodium in the diet increases blood pressure in some people.
About 5 percent of people have high blood pressure caused by some other problem in the body (secondary hypertension). Blockage of the arteries leading to the kidneys or excess production of hormones normally involved in blood pressure control are uncommon causes of high blood pressure. Your doctor may want to determine whether one of these unusual disorders is the cause of your high blood pressure so that it can be corrected.
Special Tests To Visualize The Heart
Although sophisticated diagnostic tests are available to study the structure and function of the heart, some newer procedures may provide even more information. Three recently developed diagnostic procedures are computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and positron emission tomography (PET).
