ADMINISTRATION OF HOMEOPATHIC REMEDIES:

The homoeopathic remedies are administered to the patients in three ways i.e. by olfaction, oral and local or external application .
Olfaction : When the jaws of the patient are clenched and the patient is unconscious, the remedy can be given in the way of olfaction. In this process the vial containing the medicine is held before one nostril so that the patient may inhale the vapour of the remedy. Such type of inhalation stimulates the nerve endings and the patient tends to get well. Besides these patients, the medicine is also given by way of olfaction when in highly sensitive patients the physician wants to give minimumdose to avoid aggravation.
Oral : The homoeopathic remedies are generally administered orally in the form of liquids, powders or globules o which one to two drops of liquid to be mixed with a tea-spool full of water, 4 to 8 grains of powder or 3 to 6 globules (of No 20) are enough for a dose of remedy.
Local or External Application : Various homoeopathic remedies can also be applied externally in the form of solution in water, alcohol or in the form of an ointment.
